Why I chose WordPress
As a WordPress developer who builds sites for Fiverr clients every week, you’d think my own blog would be easy. It wasn’t. Building for yourself is different—you overthink every decision.
I chose WordPress because I know it inside out, AdSense integration is straightforward, and I can practice what I preach to clients on my own site.
Picking hosting (and my mistake)
I started on the cheapest shared plan. Slow admin, cache headaches, support that took days. For a blog you update weekly, that friction kills momentum.
- Do differently: Managed WordPress hosting from day one.
- What worked: One-click WordPress install.
- Skip: Reading fifty hosting comparison articles.
Plugins I actually kept
Twelve plugins in week one. Six survived: SEO (Rank Math), cache, contact form, backup. Everything else waited for a real problem.
What’s next
Month two is content rhythm and AdSense prep. Launch ugly, improve weekly—that’s the Bright Mind Gallery way.
